Selah. ” Psalm 24:7-10, KJV.
Gates and doors are structures put in place to secure a particular property or town and its residents/ inhabitants and the valuables inside them. They also restrict access to Intruders or unwanted visitors.Those who are assigned with the responsibility of manning them are called Gatekeepers.
In the olden days especially in the Land of Israel and in some Empires like Oyo Empire, high and strong walls were built to protect their cities to protect their inhabitants from Intruders and assailants with Gates mounted to serve as the only means of Entrance and Exit. The Opening Hour might 6am while the Closing Hour might be 6pm.
And close to the such City Gates were WatchTower built to serve as Observation Posts where WatchMen stood to observe human traffics and discern any unusual movements of enemies in form of an intruding Army or Bandits. Once such a movement is sighted, the responsibility of the WatchMan on duty was to alert his colleagues manning the Gate to quickly shut the Gates to prevent the enemies from gaining entrance.
Nowadays, Housing Estates, Shopping Complexes, Military and Police Barracks, Health and Educational facilities, just to mention a few have similar structures that being manned by Security Men to prevent unrestricted access to such facilities.
In a wider context, the Security Agents mounting mo in strategic locations on our roads and those patrol duties within our towns and cities to maintain peace and order are our modern day Gatekeepers. And for their work to yield to good results, they must be diligent and be faithful. If not, there will be security breaches.
Similarly, for the overall well-being of any Society starting from the Household levels , there must be faithful Spiritual Gatekeepers as Watchmen, Prayer Warriors or Intercessors. Such people can operate in their Prophetic Offices to intercede on behalf of their families , Communities and even Nations to wade off evils/ troubles and thus safe lives. Such people rely on GOD’S strength and Anointing upon their lives to operate in the Office of a Prophet as Moses, Samuel , Daniel and even our LORD JESUS CHRIST – the Great Intercessor/ Advocate did. And our LORD has continue to continue to operate in that Ministry till now.
“Except the LORD build a house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the Watchman waketh but in vain”- Psalm 127:1, KJV.
From this Scripture, it can be deduced that in the final analysis, the security of a Nation like Nigeria right from the families that form the building blocks of any Society lies in GOD’S hands.
And since our GOD doesn’t like to intervene human affairs without any invitation, that is why He in turn depend on the faithfulness of His Watchmen placed in various families and locations to intercede and call Him for the well being of their respective families, Communities or Societies that they may be representing.
At a micro level, GOD may be revealing secrets of an impending danger to you concerning yourself or individuals in your family and He expect you to take action through intercession. While at a macro level, another person may be called to be a Prophet to his/ her Nation or other Nations in the International Community.
The most important thing is to be faithful in whatever scope or area of your calling. Since our Nation – Nigeria is at a critical cross- road and being faced with a multi-dimensional / multi -faceted socio- economic and political challenges, here is a Clarion – Call for the Church Leadership to encourage and support the Ministries of True Prophets who can wait in GOD’S Presence to receive His Word and wisdom and reveal GOD’S mind in love to the Political Powers in our Land. We are not referring to Political Soothsayers or Seers in the Order of Balam.
For an instance, the Federal Government may know the masterminds that behind the insecurities in our, yet the Political Leadership are unable to muster the needed political will to checkmate them , at least for now. And that is why the Officials have been encouraging Communities to defend themselves. But such arrangements as laudable they are, may backfire in the long run if they are hijacked by some unscrupulous politicians.
Nonetheless, and in spite of these mounting challenges, Nigeria shall still fulfil prophetic declarations that have gone ahead of her and still fulfill her destiny in the Comity of Nations as a Superpower Politically, Economically, Militarily and Technologically in JESUS Name.
Some Global powers are aware and that is why they are trying to instigate unrest with the aim of scuttle GOD’S Plans and Purpose for the Land but GOD the Almighty as a Wise Inestor will not allow His vast Investments upon Nigeria to waste and end up in the drainage in JESUS Name.
In conclusion and in a bid to hasten GOD’S Plans and Purpose upon the Land, let us be faithful in our respective Callings as Leaders in whatever field of human endeavour we may find ourselves or as Ordinary good Citizens of this Great Nation and obey His specific Commandments that are contained in Psam 122: 6-8 and I Timothy 2: 1-4, KJV. Let us play our parts as contained in those Scriptures and leave the rest to GOD.
He alone knows what to do, in His Own Way and Time. And the end result shall be Glorious for Nigeria’s current challenges shall end in PRAISE in JESUS Name. Shalom!
