Christian Benefits Magazine, an interdenominational Christian publication commissioned in January 2000 for the propagation of the Gospel of Christ and the spreading of the benefits in accepting Christ for the salvation of mankind, is set to mark its 26th anniversary with the official commissioning of the Heal the Church Outreach (HECO) Ministry, an evangelical arm of Christian Benefits Media Ministry.
The anniversary and HECO commissioning will take place on Friday, October 30, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Mercy Revival Centre (MRC), 25/33 Alake Lanko Street, off Ile Epo, Ikotun, Lagos.
According to the Publisher of the journal, Dr. Wole Olarinde, HECO was conceived in 2021 and has undergone a five-year period of incubation before its formal commissioning.
He explained that the emergence of HECO represents a new dimension in the ministry’s commitment to addressing the need for a return to the original purpose of the Church.
“HECO is an Intercessory and Reconciliatory Outreach with a burden to see the Church restored to her original purpose,” Olarinde said.
He said the outreach would emphasise sound biblical doctrine, holiness, genuine repentance, prayer, reconciliation and unity within the Body of Christ, while encouraging Christians and churches to rediscover their God-given responsibilities.
Olarinde noted that the commissioning of HECO is the major feature of this year’s Christian Benefits anniversary celebration, describing the 26-year journey of the magazine as one marked by perseverance, faith and commitment to its original calling.
Features of the anniversary
Christian Benefits Magazine was founded in January 2000 and has continued to publish Christian-interest stories, interviews, profiles, testimonies and reports from different denominations and ministries, combining Christian values with conventional journalistic principles in reporting the activities and contributions of the Christian community.
The anniversary celebration will also feature the 2026 Benefits Awards for Missionary Excellence (BAME), an annual awards programme established in 2004 to recognise outstanding contributions to Christian service, mission, music, drama, literature and entrepreneurship.
The organisers said this year’s celebration is expected to bring together church leaders, ministers, Christian professionals, award recipients, media practitioners and other stakeholders in the Christian community.
The programme will also provide an opportunity to reflect on the journey of Christian Benefits over the past 26 years and unveil a renewed vision for the ministry’s next phase.
Olarinde expressed appreciation to the numerous individuals, churches, ministries, organisations and readers who have supported Christian Benefits Magazine throughout its 26-year journey.
He said the anniversary is not merely a celebration of longevity but also an opportunity to reaffirm the publication’s commitment to Christian journalism and its responsibility to promote values that strengthen the Church and society.
The organisers invited Christian leaders, ministers, members of the public and friends of Christian Benefits to join the ministry for the historic commissioning of HECO and the 26th anniversary celebration.
