Anglican women preach sexual fidelity in Lagos schools… on Valentine’s Day

Women in the Lagos West Diocese of the Anglican Church on February 14 which was celebrated as Valentine’s Day went around some schools in Lagos preaching sexual fidelity.

The women also urged students in the schools to pursue greatness following God’s path.

The programme, tagged 2022 Valentine’s Day Schools Outreach took place in schools in the 33 archdeaconries in the state

According to the church, the programme was designed to sensitize young people to the essence of Valentine’s Day.

Passion for youth bright future informed it-Lydia Odedeji

President of the women’s organization and wife of the Bishop of the Diocese, Dr. Mrs. Oluwakemi Lydia Odedeji said the gesture was borne out of her passion for a bright future for the leaders of tomorrow.

She affirmed that the motive of the celebration had been abused by the youth, leading to regrets. 

She stated that only proper education can make young people appreciate the essence of the day.

A seasoned counselor, Mrs. Bisilola Asenuga told students at Opebi Grammar school, that sex and all forms of immoralities do not translate to love.

She encouraged the young people to guard their future jealously and stay away from premarital sex.

Wives of the archeacons in various archdeaconries led the team of counsellers to designated schools for the programme.

The programme also featured recitation of poems and distribution of gifts to the students
