Security crisis

While lamenting the spate of kidnappings around the country, particularly the recent abduction of school children by armed bandits in Kaduna and Borno States, Chibueze called on the federal government and Nigeria’s security agencies to urgently secure the release of the innocent children and ensure they are reunited with their parents.

He says, “While it is important to commend the efforts of both the federal and state governments in tackling issues of insecurity in the country, it is equally important to say that all security agencies in the country must be adequately prepared to proactively deal with future occurrences.

“It is also a delight to note that Nigeria’s current Inspector General of Police, Mr. Kayode Egbetokun is an alumnus of this great school and I have no doubt that he will live up to the ethos and principles of the school.”

In his address, the Principal of the school, The Ven. Joseph Adedeji stated that with the 50th Anniversary celebrations held last year, it is remarkable that ACHS, Ipaja is holding the maiden edition of the One-Day School Principal programme to mark the beginning of its 51st year of existence.

While regretting the recent abduction of students in Borno and Kaduna States by armed bandits, Ven. Adedeji called on security agencies to work in synergy and be alive to their responsibility of protecting the lives and property of the people.
