Adeboye gives Ten Commandments for lockdown period, the 8th will amaze you

Adeboye on lockdown

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboey has given Ten Commandments for those who want to take advantage of the lockdown period to attain greatness.

He gave the commandments today Sunday, May 31 while delivering his  sermon online.

But before the commandments, he gave instances of Bible characters who experienced lockdown and how they took advantage of the period.

In the message titled ‘all things work together for good,’  drawn from Romans 8v28, he said lockdown period from Bible times hold a lot of goodies for those who experienced it.

He said, ‘the bigger the problem the bigger the testimony. That big problem in your life will soon result to good testimony. The name Bartimaeus would never have entered the Bible if he was not born blind.  Peter came in contact with his destiny after an all-night failure in the fish catching business. All things work together for good including lockdown. A lot of great things are going to come from lockdown. Pastors’ get ready you will be having a lot of naming ceremonies next year’

Giving instances of those who experienced lockdown in the Bible he said, ‘David was locked down in a cave called Adulam. About 400 riff-raffs were gathered to him. During this period those hopeless men were transformed. This same people became David’s mighty men. They became mighty during lockdown.

“Elijah in 1kings 17 v17-24 was locked down in the house of the widow of Zarephath. While he was locked down he became the first prophet to raise the dead. It was while Joseph was in the prison that he moved from being a dreamer to interpreter of dreams as a result of which he became the Prime Minister of Egypt, the most powerful nation of the world at that time.’

He then went on to give the 10 commandments for the lockdown period. They are:

  1. Rejoice in the Lord. This is the time to rejoice because tomorrow will be alright.
  2. Praise God. Spend time to praise God.
  3. Pray. There has never been a greater opportunity in your life to pray.
  4. Study. Take time to study the Bible and do general study. A friend of mine said he has been researching the open heavens from year 2000 and he found out that not  a single story of the open heaven has been repeated.
  5. Meditate think of what you have read. Think of what you have studied.
  6. Receive vision for your future. John the beloved was locked down in the Island of Patmos and that was where he received vision of the end of age. God speaks to people who are not in a hurry to leave his presence.
  7. Plan what next to do after the lockdown. Let the lockdown period be your time of planning for the future.
  8. Clean up your house and immediate surroundings. Turn over your mattress today. Clean up your surroundings. Remove every little dirt.
  9. When you’re doing the clean-up you will be surprised how many clothes and things you don’t need. give them out. Lighten your house
  10. Pray for me because the Bible says you should pray for your leaders.

He then stressed, ‘Our leaders need your prayers. The text we read says all things work together for the good of those who love God. The lockdown will bring miracles and wonders to those who love God. Love is a two-way traffic. God loves those who love him and those who seek him early.

“If you sin against God it means you hate your own soul because he says those who hate him love death. God told me that only those whose time had come would die during this lockdown. The number of those who have died of the virus is less than ten percent of those who have recovered from the virus. God just wanted to prove himself that he is the almighty that he can lockdown the whole world.’

Nice reportage you've got there, I give it to you for the speed at which the story was reported however let me draw your attention to parts of the last paragraph before it is taken out in context because I listened to the sermon. The sentence, "The number of those who have died during this lockdown is less than ten percent of those who are living" should reads The number of those who have died during this lockdown is less than ten percent of those WHO HAVE RECOVERED OF THE VIRUS. thanks
