Year 2020 : Expect many battles, many victories- Adeboye

Pastor Enoch Adeboye has said the year 2020 will be a year of many battles and many victories for Christians especially for member of the Redeemed Christian Church of God.

On the international scene, he said there will be changes in the governments of many nations of the world. Some of the changes according to him will be peaceful while some will be violent.

Pastor Adeboye, who is the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God made the declaration at the crossover night service of the church on Tuesday, which held at the Redemption Camp along Lagos Ibadan Express road.

Reflection on 2019 prophecies

The RCCG pastor who has over the years been  making prophetic statements at the turn of a new year reminded the congregation that he gave two prophetic scriptures last year. He said in those scriptures the word fire and blood were notable words. He said the experience of last year in terms of flood and natural disaster will be a child’s play compared to what will happen in 2020.

In 2019, Pastor Adeboye was not this explicit in his prophetic declaration. he only gave scriptures for International scene (Joel 2v28-32) Nigeria (Lamentation 3v22-23) Individual (Isaiah 3v10-11) for RCCG members (Psalm 91)

Bringing the Year 2020 prophecy home to members of the church, Adeboye said individual believers especially members of the RCCG will experience many battles and at the same time many victories.

He said there will be shout of joy in many homes adding however that they should bear in mind that the battles in the year ahead is not their battle but God’s own battle. “You are going to hold your peace and God will fight for you” he said.

He however explained during his homily that the way to get God involved in the battle is to embark on ceaseless praise and thanksgiving. “When you praise God and call him by his name he will arise on our behalf and do exploits for us in year 2020” he said.

He also urged the church to place their trust solely in God. He stated that only absolute trust in God can guarantee victory for people in the battle of life.

The RCCG Overseer said unless the church and believers pray hard there will be series of earthquake and volcanic eruptions in unlikely quarters in year 2020. “But if we can pray God will avert all these natural disasters.”

He said as usual the church will embark on its yearly fast. But according to him the fast will not begin until January 11 stating that he wanted the people to “enjoy” themselves.

He said further that details of the year 2020 prophecy will be revealed on Friday January 3 at the Holy Ghost night. He then urged members to spend time in prayers with God at the crossover night before they go home.
