It’s important for every pastor to define his own brand identity. Your brand identity is who you are. It is a unique projection of your personality. Besides being a servant of God, you were uniquely and wonderfully made with your own peculiarities.
Every brand in the market place has a distinct identity and it is important for a Pastor to define his own brand identity. It has been observed that most Pastors do not bother about their identity.
This is wrong as a pastor needs to project the distinctive features of his personality brand. Your identity defines how you are perceived by the audience, i.e the congregation.
There are unique elements that differentiate a pastoral brand from the other. A pastor’s identity should not bring confusion to the congregation. One major element is truth.
Your identity must project truthfulness at all times. When you minister to a mass audience, you must be truthful at all times. When you have undergone sound Ministerial and Theological training, you must embody truth as a Pastor.
The word of GOD is truth and as a result, you must be a truthful and sincere Pastoral brand that is being projected to the public
You must have a distinct identity from the multitude of Pastors. You must not be a “follow follow” Pastor.
Most Pastors imitate others in sermon delivery and personality projection. You need to maintain your own identity and cherish it. Why would you abandon your own unique gifts and live in the shadows of another Pastor? You are also wonderfully created.
You are different from the other pastors. Do not be lost in the crowd. For the mere fact that a Pastor does something should not be your focus. Ministry is not about imitation.
Differentiate yourself through your conduct and compartment. You must exemplify attributes that align with the Pastoral Ministry.
Your Pastoral brand should also be dynamic and vibrant. You should not maintain the status quo. A Pastor should always be pro-active and not reactive. You need to be dynamic in teaching the word of life and be vibrant in your presentation.
Some Pastors teach the word of life as if there is no “life “ in what they present to the congregation. Your dynamism is closely linked to your mode of presentation. You should not be a laid back pastor. Dynamism also has its spiritual impact as well. Be dynamic and let the word of GOD breathe through you.
The voice and the tone of a Pastor also defines his identity. Your voice should reasonate with the audience, i.e. your congregation. Your voice must be clear, audible, distinct and transmit genuine word of GOD.
Your voice should stand you out among other Pastors. Your voice should restore hope and bring relief to people. Do not attempt to speak like someone else. Do not pattern your delivery after another Minister.
Your voice should bring about call to action. It should enable people take a stand for GOD. Through your voice, the congregation should know the appropriate direction to take.
In essence, your voice should bring encouragement and inspiration to all. The tone of your pastoral brand must bring clarity to the message you communicate to the congregation. Your tone should set you apart from others.
Every brand has a packaging and it is also desirable for every Pastor to package himself in a very distinct and appropriate way. Packaging for the Pastor is his comprehensive outlook. This has both spiritual and physical dimensions. Packaging here does not imply being vain and mundane.
This is not only limited to dressing but your conduct and comportment. Your overall packaging should endear the people to know more about the message you preach.
You must project a well-packaged brand that projects light at all times. Your Pastoral brand is expected to shine the light.
Pastor, what is your own brand identity? Do you still struggle to maintain a vinile and dynamic identity?
You can always begin from somewhere and showcase the one who has called you out of darkness into HIS marvelous light.
Develop a solid brand identity that resonates with the audience. Stay on your lane and fulfill GOD’s purpose in your life.
