Why I will never work for Asiwaju Bola Tinubu-Reno Omokri

Aide to Former President Goodluck Jonathan, Mr. Reno Omokri has said he will never work for the declared winner of the 2023 presidential election, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu on the grounds of Tinubu’s alleged link with a drug cartel

He however said a Tinubu presidency will be an improvement on the Buhari government when he is eventually sworn in.

Omokri made the submission in an online chat with Seun Okinbaloye with the theme: Tinubu’s win, the fallout, litigations, and the path untraveled.

Omokri who is a social media influencer said somebody from Bola Tinubu’s camp had already approached him but that he turned down the offer.

“I told him I can never do it. Some people can do that. But it is not in my DNA. It is never going to happen. I wish Bola Tinubu well if he is eventually sworn in and the court upholds his victory but I can never work with him.” he said.

Making further clarification, he said, “Look at what white heroine has done and the number of people it has killed and destroyed. I cannot. I am an ordained pastor. Oil was put on my head. Somebody’s hand was put on my head. I will give an account of my life to God.”

Quoting the scriptures he said, “What shall it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? I can never work for him.”

When reminded that Bola Tinubu could have repented, he said, “There is repentance but it does not take away the consequence of your sin. God is only going to save you from eternal damnation. For instance, if you kill a man, God is going to forgive you if you repent but it does not mean that the court will not sentence you to death. That is not going to happen. In the US many young people die because of white heroin. Many have also died in Nigeria. I cannot work with such a man. It will be like taking blood money.”

Omokri had earlier during the interview faulted Tinubu’s election. He noted that about 14,000 polling units had issues with the BVAS and crisis which ought to have necessitated a rerun of elections in those polling units. But that did not happen.

According to him, the number of voters in those 14000 polling units is more than the margin of win of the president-elect.

He pleaded with the court that it should look at those issues. He however expressed concern over the Chief Judge of the Federation describing him as partisan.
