West Africa Theological Seminary has appointed its Director of Administration Dr. Tosin Awolalu to act as Provost until further notice.
This is following the demise of its provost, Pastor Femi Martins who passed on May 28, 2022.
Chairman of the school’s governing council, Dr. Emmanuel Oluwayemi in a statement said Awolalu’s appointment was reached at the meeting of the Council on June 1.
By this appointment, Dr. Awolalu will oversee the affairs of the seminary in addition to discharging his responsibility as Director of Administration.
Dr. Awolalu is an alumnus of the University of Ibadan. He holds a B.A., M.A. (English), and M.C.A. (Communication Arts).
He also holds a PGD (Theology) and Ph.D. (Communication and Language Arts: Publishing)
Awolalu has over four decades of professional experience in university teaching, educational publishing, and instructional resource development.
He is passionate about issues of ethical governance and underdevelopment of Lesser Developed countries of Africa and Asia
Awolalu is also an Alumnus of the Haggai Institute for Advanced Leadership Training, Singapore. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Entrepreneurs of Nigeria and a bi-vocational senior pastor of The Redeemed Christian Church of God.
As Acting Provost, Awolalu will combine the responsibility of fundraising and academic management of the seminary.
Dr. Oluwayemi said in the statement that, “ Dr. Awolalu has been steering the wheels of the seminary in the right direction.
