Pst. Uyeh

The Chairman of the LAWNA Territory of The Apostolic Church, Pastor Gabriel Uyeh has pleaded with Nigerians not to lose hope while expressing confidence that the nation will surmount its challenges.

He made the plea while addressing journalists on July 30 ahead of the Church’s annual convention which kicks off on Saturday August 3

He also denied insinuations that church leaders have not been talking to government on the state of the nation.

Uyeh said church leaders speak to government from time to time but the feedback from government has not been favourable..

Citing an· encounter he had with President Tinubu along with some other servants of God, Uyeh said, ‘when we met Tinubu at the Aso Rock we told him Nigerians are hungry and suffering. He told us jokingly that he too is suffering.’

The cleric then stated that there is need for government to listen to the people and address the issues of hunger in the land.

In his speech, he suggested to government to give priority to reducing hunger in the land by taking lessons from Nigeria’s glorious past.

He said, ‘ They should be involved in agricultural production, and setting  up agro industrial processing factories at grassroots level.

‘Attention should be paid to the rehabilitation and construction of rural roads as well as public transportation so as to reduce the prices of food in the market.

‘Policies that can further aggravate  hardship and inflict pain on the people should be jettisoned and or ignored’

He called on Nigerians not to lose hope. ‘There is a glorious day ahead. All hands must be on deck, let’s all direct our God-given potential to doing something profitable to take us out of social and economic decadence.’ he said

Uyeh said the church has not neglected to pray for the nation stating that ‘ ‘A voice is raised every hour across the nation where we have our churches to pray for Nigeria. The ship of the nation must not capsize. ‘

Pastor Uyeh who is also the Vice President of the church disclosed that the theme of the 2024 confab is ‘we shall all appear before the judgment seat of Christ’

He said the Lord wants to use “the convention to remind us about the ultimate  end of all our earthly transactions. God is God of justice. And we shall give account of our earthly stewardship before this impartial judge’

The LAWNA event is an annual event during which members of the church gather to be edified through sound biblical teachings and exhortations..
