Tradition versus Christ: Emiko, Olaleye others to provide insight @BOL confab
President of Koinonia Ministries, Rev.Dr. Emiko Amotsuka, General Overseer of the Pentecostal Congregation, Bishop Abraham Olaleye, and a host of other pastors will feature at the 6th annual ministers’ conference of the Bearer of Light Missions World Outreach.
The conference this year will be examining the theme: Tradition Versus Christ.
The convener, Dr. Sam Oyemade told Church Times that the conference is not the conventional kind of conference where the preacher talks to the rest of the audience.
Rather, it’s an all-inclusive conference where the resource persons will interface with the audience in a learning atmosphere.
Aim of the conference
Oyemade explained that this year’s conference will focus on some Church traditions and the place of Christ in those traditions.
He said, “The intention is to look at some of the things we do and jointly examine them in the light of God’s word. Everybody at the conference will be involved. The resource persons will provide the lead and guide us through the scriptures while the audience will be free to ask questions and raise posers”
Oyemade explained that the intention is not to run down any denomination but to create a platform where everybody can express their views in the light of God’s word and provide clear pathways that people may align with.
He observed that “many people do things they know little about. And since they get results, they think those things are right. But then we came to a realisation in our ministry that the essence of Christ is being gradually eroded in the church.
“People are losing grip of what it means to have a relationship with Christ. So we began the conference six years ago to examine practices in modern day church in the light of the scriptures so that we can gain more understanding.”
The 2022 conference resource persons are Dr. Emiko Amotsuka, Bishop Abraham Olaleye, and Pastor Olukayode Oyedepo who is the Senior Pastor of Miners.
Also on the team are Dr. Dele Ajayi, Chaplain of the Lagos State Chapel of Light, and Bishop Moses Adedipe who is the GS of Universal Christian International.
Many other pastors would also be around to provide resources and insight at the conference which will hold for two days starting on Friday, September 30 to end on October 1, 2022.
It will hold at BOL Knowledge Centre, 7 Mojeed Sanni Street, College Bus Stop, Igando Lagos.
Oyemade expressed hope that the conference will expose the beasts that have crept into the church so that the name of Jesus will be glorified.
