The Apostolic Church Nigeria Prison Ministry in LAWMNA Territory has donated assistive materials and food to the inmates of the Lagos State Rehabilitation and Vocational Training Center, Majidun
The presentation of the materials and items were made during the country’s independence day celebration by representatives of the Ministry led by Pastor Isaac O. Ogunrinola.
Items presented included, bags of clothing, children and women sanitaries, hundreds of loaves of bread, confectionaries, and children medicines, among others.
Speaking on behalf of the Ministry’s coordinator during the presentation ceremony, the Secretary, Tunde Adebisi told a cross section of the Rehab inmates that they should make the best out of their situation as the Lord has a good purpose for their lives.
He said, “I call on all of you to see your placement here as another chance to lead a life useful to you, to the society and country and useful to God.
“Once you are nobody, but by your being in this Centre the Lord is turning you into somebody for his glory, to fulfill destiny and purpose in life,” he added; “Make the best of the chance.”
Adebisi pointed out that the ministry’s extension of the charity to the centre offered “an opportunity for them to share the refreshing time of the country’s independence with the inmatesall in the ministry’s own little way.
He added that the TACNPM, an affiliate of the Prison Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) decided to adopt Rehabilitation centre as a special outreach project, saying that ministry is committed to fulfilling the golden commandment of “love your neighbour”
” We are here to say we care, by extending our charity indeed.”
“We are here to let you know the love of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ to you all regardless of your conditions and situation.
“We are here to let you know that he is capable of setting you free. As it is written whom the son of God set free is free indeed. He has assured us and he did it in those days, and is still doing it today. Jesus the same yesterday, today and forever.”
He urged them to take advantage of the rehabilitation and training being offered by the Centre to turn a new leaf in life and become useful citizen to the glory of God.
Adebisi declared that with the Lord’s plans being fulfilled in their lives, their circumstance shall turn to a testimony, as the Lord Jesus Christ has assured.
He extended the good wishes of the coordinator of TACN Prison and hospital Ministry Pastor Ogunrinola the management and inmates of Centre, and said “the grace of God abounds with you in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.”
Receiving the materials, the Centre’s Chaplain, Pastor Akraka, thanked The Apostolic Church for their hand of charity to the Center and urged that they continued to pray for the turn around of the many souls in the Rehab.
