Missions enthusiast and founder of World Hope Church, Pastor Idowu Animasawun has appealed to believers to make conscious efforts to support missions across the country as God gives them grace.
He made the call in a recent chat with Church Times.
Animasawun came to know the Lord in the 80s after years of sojourn in the world as a secular artist He has since devoted his entire life to preaching the gospel in rural areas of Nigeria.
He told Church Times there is a growing need in missions’ fields that requires material and spiritual support.
His call for support is coming just as his mission-focused church begins a three-day outreach in Badeku, Oyo State.
The outreach according to him would involve reaching out to the physical and material needs of the people.
The ex-apola king said, “We want to continue to allow God to use us to give hope to the people in the rural areas who are economically challenged. Apart from people who need to come to the saving knowledge of Jesus, there are many that are impoverished. They need material support. Starting from December15-18, we will be giving support to these people while also reaching out to them with the gospel.” he said.
Medical and spiritual needs
The ministry according to him will be carrying out medical missions among the people.
The octogenarian said, “there is so much neglect in many of our rural areas. That is what makes me continue to call for help and assistance from willing believers to support the work going on in various missions field.
“Many people in the city have the luxury of eating and having excess. They also have access to good medicals. But there are people in many parts of this country who don’t even know where their next meal would come from. Their health condition is also bad.
“And it does not mean they are not working. They are working. It’s just that things are not adding up. Many of them are not so privileged as many in the cities. So I will continue to appeal that we should come to the support of missions. There are many missions outreaches that need support.
“On our own part, we want to share the joy of Christmas with people in Badeku. Our target is the aged, the orphans, the widows, and many that are economically challenged. For this project, we are trusting God for a sum of N2million. I am inviting believers to join us and partner with us to bless lives.”
He thanked those who have been supportive of missions over the years praying that God will bless and prosper them greatly.
