Strange teachings: Ghanaian pastor makes a list, warns believers to beware

A Ghanaian Pastor Isaac Pappoe who was once a victim of strange teachers have listed those teachings in a Facebook post warning believers to be wary of them. Find below the post

I have so many doubts about some of these new age teachings coming up. A revelation that is discovered and spread in only one circle is suspicious. I wonder how come all the ministers who have been preaching the message of the Gospel for so long never made these suspicious discoveries.

Just pause and think! “Only one circle”. Again let me list a few down here which is being preached in this circle:

* Angels connived with Moses to give the law

*God had nothing to do with the law. Angels gave it themselves by their own authority.

*Adams sin didn’t affect everyone

*For all have not sinned

*God has no wrath and vengeance

*It was angels and Satan that did most killing in the OT and not God

*The absence of God is what people refer as the wrath of God

*Communion is obsolete

*Baptism is obsolete

*Some of the Old Testament prophets had mental agitation and didn’t know what they were writing in the Old Testament.

*The book of revelation is for babies etc

There are times people ask me questions and am bold to tell them I don’t have any light on them for now. Sometimes it’s deliberate. When you think you can answer every question in the Bible, the temptation to go ahead of God in matters too high for you is inevitable. There is nothing wrong with not knowing it all.

I recently discovered one of the motivation of a man who believes God has never killed anyone in the Old Testament. He said, “how can you convince an atheist that our God is good if we say He can kill and has killed people in the Old Testament”. Ooooooh okay. So that’s one of the problems. We must now lie to an atheist to win them to Christ?

The answer is “if you convince an atheist that God wasn’t responsible for any of the judgements that resulted in the death of people and he comes to believe and later realizes it was wrong, you even worsen his atheism. If an atheist doesn’t believe God is Just in all His ways even in the death caused by Him under the Old Testament, He won’t believe even if you twist the scriptures to convince Him He wasn’t responsible either.

There is nothing wrong if you can’t answer every Bible question or decide to stay silent on certain biblical questions. That’s why I advise young men to stay focused on what Christ did for them clearly written in the epistles, who they are in Christ and their responsibilities and conduct instructed in the epistles. Focus on the instructions of Paul to Timothy and Titus. You’ll see a young man shouting and talking proudly as if he was with Apostle Paul when he was writing the epistles, yet doesn’t even have a personal prayer life or is battling with character and integrity issues.

Being a pastor doesn’t mean you should be able to answer every question. Just be faithful with the understanding you have in your journey with the Gospel of our Lord Jesus. Be patient. Don’t rush to teach another man’s ideology when you haven’t yet understood it or feel uncomfortable in your spirit about it.

It is said that curiosity kills the cat. Some young men lack discipline of remaining faithful in little things. They haven’t established themselves in teachings like righteousness, forgiveness, purity, reverence (fear) of God, Christian consecration, Christian character and discipline then quickly they wallow into teachings like where does God live?, where does God come from?, who is Lucifer?, who is Satan?, Who was the Most High Satan wanted to be higher than?, Where was Satan when Jesus went to hell?, Were all the books of the Old Testament inspired by God?, Did Adam eat anything in the garden? etc. Please be careful entering into certain areas the New Testament wasn’t loud on.

I fell into this trap before. Such teachings don’t establish believers (or your membership) in the faith. Such teachings don’t raise Disciples of Christ. We won’t be held responsible for not teaching such things as pastors or receiving them as members. There are some things better left untaught than to teach them and afflict innocent people. I have made terrible mistakes and am still learning and unlearning. It’s not compulsory to teach the book of revelation your own way if you don’t understand it. Now I hear it said that the book of revelation was written to babes in Christ (coming from this same circle).

To anyone who believes “God cannot kill and have never killed ever before throughout the Old Testament” ask those who taught you serious questions:

Ask questions. Ask your teacher questions. Ask honest questions. Those who teach that angels gave the law and God knew nothing about it, ask them questions:

Ask them who an angel is, ask them the functions of an angel and let them tell you, ask them if an angel can do anything by their own authority, ask them how a God who cannot kill will watch His angels (servants) kill people and they go scot free. Ask them how a God who cannot kill and has never killed but only gives life never gave life to those angels killed by their own authority. Ask them why angels spared David for murdering, lying, committing adultery, eating bread from the temple which was unlawful etc but killed a man who was gleaning grain on the Sabbath.

They say the flood was a natural disaster already bound to happen and God was only warning them when scripture clearly says God told Noah He was going to destroy the earth.

Now they say the people in Noah’s day committed suicide when they rejected God’s voice through Noah for 120 years. This is what happens when the word of God is not taught with a sincerity of heart. We open the door for more assumptions and deliberate errors which deceives people.

Ask questions to those who taught you. Don’t be afraid of them. Ask them “Why did God give a rainbow as a sign and Covenant that He would never destroy the earth with flood if He didn’t do it?”

Ask questions: why did God say through Isaiah “For this is as the waters of Noah unto me: for as I have sworn that the waters of Noah should no more go over the earth; so have I sworn that I would not be wroth with thee, nor rebuke thee”.

Ask your teacher who says, “God cannot kill and has never killed”, “Why will God swear not to do something he never did?”.

Ask very genuine questions and be honest with yourself. At the end of the day, the man you’re following will also stand before the Lord His master just like you and you’ll both give an account.

My articles were sent to a whatApp platform which has many believers of “God cannot kill” and guess what? When they couldn’t refute my submissions, they insulted the one who posted it and warned the group members saying “this group is created for Party A and Party B so if you think you no longer believe in their teachings and are no longer loyal to their teachings, you’re free to leave the page.

“It’s now loyalty to men and their false teachings than the Gospel? I can’t be in this. And of course some left the page because they agreed with the article. The next thing they ask is “who is this Pappoe and when did he come?”. So now truth is determined by who started ministry first? Now truth is about who is popular? An amazing generation.

But the goodnews is, it’s working. People are studying for themselves and not just swallowing anything. People are now thinking for themselves. They’re seeing the truth for themselves. The scales are being removed from their eyes.

You can’t trust a man who doesn’t trust the authority of the Bible when the truth clearly confronts him. You can’t agree with a man who doesn’t agree with the Bible and must twist it to suit an ideology about God he (or they) created for himself (themselves).

When you go to a man’s wall or website to study his audio materials or videos, please pray. Ask the Lord if you’re at the right place. Make sure the leadings of the Spirit are paramount when listening to a man.

Never forget, there are good people who are still teaching falsely. All these religions we have today were started by some very good people.

Never forget there are people with good intentions who are also teaching falsely. Don’t be emotional in making the right choice of who to follow. When a man tries to uproot the very foundation of the Gospel, you must be careful what you receive from him.

When a man has contradicted himself many many times, he becomes a subject to study and analyze critically before swallowing anything he says.

Beware!!!
