Sexual misconduct: RCCG calls for evidence against pastors

Pastor Enoch Adeboye

The Redeemed Christian Church of God has urged any member of the public with evidence against two of its pastors accused of sexual misconduct to make same available.

It also informed that the two pastors have been put on indefinite suspension pending the outcome of the investigations against them.

A statement signed by the National Overseer of the Church, Pastor Sunday Akande made available to Church Times on Tuesday, October 29, titled, “RCCG addresses allegations against youth ministers” informed that the church is aware of the serious allegations made against a few of its youth ministers.

The statement noted further that the church is investigating the claims adding that the “youth ministers have been placed on indefinite suspension and have been removed from all ministerial duties until we can fully address all these allegations”

An earlier letter titled, investigation and suspension regarding allegation of homosexuality” dated October 28 and signed by Pastor Akande had directed the Special Assistant to the General Overseer on Administration to look into the allegations leveled against the two youth pastors (names withheld) of the church while they were placed under suspension.

In the new letter, however, the church urged people with relevant evidence that could assist in its investigation to make such available to rccgadm@gmail.com or call 09039000700.

It however warned that only substantiated evidence connected with the case will be reviewed while assuring that the church is dedicated to the transparency of the process.

The church also stated that it would not tolerate any action that would contradict its core values or cover up sinful actions.
