PFN Lagos itemises key achievements, explains why website still carries names of old exco

The Executives of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Lagos State Chapter, have marked the first anniversary of their current administration with a thanksgiving service at the Global Impact Church, Gbagada, Lagos.

The fellowship led by its chairman, Pastor Yemi Davids, also used the opportunity of the service to highlight the administration’s achievements within one year of his leadership.

He said the administration has in the last one year focused on reconciliation, youth empowerment, spiritual growth, women empowerment, civic responsibility among others.

His administration according to him has also worked to rebuild trust, restore unity, and position PFN Lagos as a stronger voice in the church and the nation.

The Publicity secretary of the fellowship, Rev Tonye Oliver also explained why the website still displays the names of past executives. He says there is a technical challenge with the site which is being resolved. He added however that a new site may be constructed if there is no headway.

The achievements

The fellowship according to David’s has focused on the spiritual growth and unity of members in the last one year.. “We have rebuilt trust and strengthened communication among members.

“We have promoted reconciliation and unity, restoring relationships with estranged churches and pastors. We have developed impactful message content and teachings to transform lives, combat corruption, and promote patriotism”

The fellowship according to him has enhanced peace and progress among its members through transparent communication and a peaceful leadership posture.

“We have been able to develop leadership capacity of members. We have organized specialized training for Sunday School teachers across PFN churches. We have held leadership and value-based training programs for children, youths, and church leaders.’

Davids states that the fellowship had also planned Town Hall meetings for leaders to discuss doctrinal and fellowship-related issues.

On its social impact David’s says, ‘We have made some impact in the community and help to being smiles to people through catering for their welfare. We sponsored an N8 million surgery for a member in need. We provided over N40 million worth of relief materials and food items to victims of the Benue State crisis and launched free medical care programs for indigent people.”

Lagos PFN also took active part in the rehabilitation of street urchins to make them better citizen. “We initiated programs targeting the younger generation, addressing morality, politics, and social issues. We strengthened efforts to “catch them young” by instilling values early through PFN’s outreach.

On Women Empowerment, David’s states, “We strengthened the Women’s Wing, making it more visible through awareness, training, collaboration, and networking. We bridged the generational gap among women in PFN, empowering them to contribute beyond the pulpit.. we also promoted women’s identity, encouraging them to be a voice and play active roles in society.

He noted that the fellowship had also promoted civic responsibility through media platforms, amplifying PFN’s values and activities. ” We have encouraged Christians to be actively involved in politics and governance without being partisan. Through PFN’s Politics and Governance Department, engaged all local governments for value-based grassroots interaction and collaboration.”

As PFN Lagos celebrates its first year under the current leadership, the executives pledged to build on these achievements while projecting the fellowship in better light.
