Owa Obokun of Ijeshaland promoted unity- Anglican Bishop

The Anglican Bishop of Ilesha Diocese, Prof Dapo Asaju has said the late Owa Obokun of Ijeshalland, Oba Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran promoted unity among the many denominations in Ijeshaland.

Oba Aromolaran, passed on at the age of 86 on Thursday September 12 after a brief illness

The Asiwaju of Ijeshaland, Chief Olayinka Fasuyi, had earlier announced the transition of the monarch in a statement.

Oba Adekunle ascended the throne on February 20, 1982, from the Aromolaran family, and he reigned for 42 years.

Chief Olayinka paid glowing tribute to the late monarch in the statement that announced the demise of the royal father

Bishop Asaju however said Oba Aromolaran was instrumental to the bond among the many denominations in Ijeshaland.

He recalled how the late Oba participated in the yearly Jesus Festival of the Anglican Diocese of Ilesha and his generosity towards many churches in Ijeshaland..

Bishop Asaju assured the family of the late Oba, the chiefs and the people of Ijeshalnd of the prayers of the Church as the monarch is being mourned.
