The West Africa Theological Seminary (WATS), Ipaja Lagos was recently thrown into a frenzy when an ex-student of the school, Dr.Amb. Bolarinwa Onotosho donated books worth over N1.5 million to the school.
Omotosho was the keynote speaker at the institution’s student week. Asides donating the books, he delivered a thought-provoking lecture titled “Wise and Resourceful: Ministry Beyond the Pulpit (Tent Making and Self Sustainability)”.
The books
The donated books are the “The Pocket Guide to the Apocalypse: The Official Field Manual for the End of the World”. The books offer a humorous look at end times, eschatology, and apocalypse. Omotosho’s gesture aims to support academic pursuits and foster a culture of learning.
The Student Council President, Ali Andrawus, and Ariyo Moyioluwa, the chairman of the student week 2025, expressed heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Omotosho for the generous book donation. “This is thought-provoking, and God will continue to bless you,” he said, appreciating Dr. Omotosho’s commitment to giving back to his alma mater.
Representing the Provost, Pastor Sabo Promise conveyed a special message of appreciation from Pastor Olufemi Emmanuel, PhD, thanking Dr. Omotosho for his notable contribution.
This gesture is a demonstration of Dr. Omotosho’s dedication to supporting theological education and the seminary community.
Omotosho and WATS
As a distinguished alumnus of WATS, Pastor Dr. Amb. Bolarinwa Michael Omotosho has had a profound impact on the institution. His journey with WATS spans 24 remarkable years, from student to senior administrator.
During his tenure, Dr. Omotosho worked with Vision International Christian Ministries (VICM), a respected hub for Christian leadership training and development in Nigeria and Africa.
He later joined the WATS workforce as a Student Recruitment Officer and rose through the ranks to become External Relations Manager, acting as Director of Communications and Fundraising.
Dr. Omotosho’s passion for education led him to serve as a part-time lecturer, imparting knowledge and inspiring students. Although he eventually resigned to focus on his divine calling as President of Anchor International Outreach Ministry, Inc., his legacy at WATS remains profound.
Anchor International
Through Anchor International Outreach Ministry, Dr. Omotosho has made a significant impact by distributing thousands of copies of Africa Study Bible, Spurgeon Study Bible, and other reference Bibles and books.
This initiative has likely equipped many church leaders, pastors, and individuals with valuable resources for spiritual growth, biblical understanding, and ministry development.
The donation reflects Dr. Omotosho’s dedication to giving back to his community and promoting educational excellence. His initiative will undoubtedly have a positive impact on the students and the community.

As WATS continues to thrive under the leadership of its newly appointed Provost, Pastor Olufemi Emmanuel, PhD, and the founder, Prof. Gary S. In light of this, Dr. Omotosho extends an appeal to the global WATS alumni community, particularly in Nigeria, to come back and support the renowned Hope Agenda under the leadership of the new Provost. He encourages all alumni to make their contributions, whether financial, spiritual, or otherwise, to help maintain WATS’ reputation for excellence and further its mission.
