He said disagreement is not peculiar to the CAC noting that misunderstanding and disagreement among members are not strange to the universal church.

“misunderstanding is not peculiar to the church. I believe the CAC matter is about to be totally settled. What is left in our reconciliation moves is minute. With prayers and meditative discussion, the discord will be a thing of the past,” he told reporters after his inauguration.

Odejobi who distributed free copies of his latest book titled, rebuilding the fallen wall of unity, said he would pursue the issue of discipline and ensure that the word of God is more entrenched in the church.

“The CAC is not a church where you come to do anything. We believe God is already in control of the rulership of the church after 30 years of hullabaloo that the church has experienced. My vision is to ensure unity comes in the church. My main goal is all about rebuilding the wall of unity in the church so that the enemy will not penetrate again.” He stated.

He promised to work alongside the President of the mission and be loyal to him to bring about lasting harmony to the church.

Earlier during the commencement service, Pastor S.O Aluko, a regional Superintendent preached on, “My role in the team” quoting from Exodus 17 Vs 18-16.

In the message, he said the fact that Odejobi is the 12th GS of the church and Pastor Samuel Oladele is the 8th President is not accidental stating that God had purposed their election from the beginning.

While stating that every man has a role to play in life, he said, “When there is a break down in law and order you don’t go to the ministry of health, you go to the police. You have a role. I have a role.”

He stated further that the CAC is experiencing a new dawn. “What we are experiencing now shows that God is doing something unique. We will not fail. God determines what he wants to do before bringing in those who will do it. God can never fail in whatsoever he wants to do. He can change people, institutions to achieve his purpose. God has a way of preparing people around what he wants to do.”

He prayed that whosoever God has not assigned to the new GS will not come his way advising that he should not choose to be a lone ranger.

“Team makes for completeness. A team shows divine variety. Team makes for continuity.  The principal officers of this church have not always been unavailable. That is the way God has designed the church. And that is why the transition has been seamless,” he said.

He however urged the new GS to beware of the mixed multitude among his team and also shun individualistic tendencies and unnecessary struggle.

In closing his message, Aluko warned against making pronouncements on the legacies of the church stating that there is no seat that has not been occupied before.
