Apostle Adeyeye Oluwarotimi J.P. is the general overseer of the Clear revelation ministry. He has been in ministry for over 30 years, But before he veered into ministry work, he was manager of several organisations. He shares his thoughts with Isaac Ngumah in this interview
You were manager of some organisations before you veered into ministry. What made you abandon all that for ministry?
I think the simple answer is that God called me into the ministry. If he did not call me, there was no way I could have abandoned all that to do ministry work. And this clearly shows that my motivation was not money. It took me a while before I could obey God’s call. It has been a rough road as of the time when I wanted to begin. When God called me I did not answer at first because of some depressing issues. l ran to another city. God discovered me there, took me out of the city and brought me to Ibadan to start the ministry. I have had so many challenges ever since. But I thank God he is by my side and helping me gradually. The bottom line is that God has been faithful
What has been your experience in ministry?
It has been awesome. God has used me to make impact in Nigeria, Africa as a whole, and indeed the world. In 2002 Nigeria Daily Times newspaper covered some of the programmes l held. l held a crusade and many miracles took place. The dead was brought back to life, the blind saw, the deaf spoke, those who had HIV and AIDS got healed, and epilepsy healed. A woman with a child inside her womb for three years was delivered. We thank God for these miracles. But our primary call is to preach the good news of salvation.
What is your position on the preaching of the prosperity gospel?
If a preacher always preach blessings and material prosperity without salvation messages, you should know that something is wrong with that preacher. The Bible says we should seek God’s kingdom and His righteousness first and every other thing will be added. The preaching of salvation is to save souls . Prosperity preaching is heresy.
How best then do you think the Church can contribute to the growth of the nation?
I think the best way is for us as servants of God to keep sounding the alarm and warning the government on their decisions and policies to guide them. l have had world press conferences to warn Obasanjo in 2007 in 2011. I had another one to warn the nation in 2013 all that was proclaimed during the world press conferences came to pass. Unfortunately, many of our big churches in Nigeria are too comfortable so they will not be able to tell the truth.
Do you see a future for Nigeria with the way this present government is running the country?
Nigeria Is going to be divided no matter how we pray. l said this even before the national confab in 2014. All the governments have failed. It is only God that can answer our prayers and deliver us from selfish and greedy politicians. I think the immediate thing that should be done to stem the tide of disintegration is for us to adopt six geopolitical zones for effective governance. But i do not think any restructuring can come up now. I also think government should lay more emphasis on agriculture. That is the easiest way out of poverty in the country. Nigerians are hungry. A hungry man is an angry man. Something should be done urgently to stem the tide of food crisis in Nigeria.
Coupled with hunger is insecurity. How best do you think the security problem in Nigeria can be solved?
I have had several media chats on this issue. I have Issued warnings against the importations of weapons. During Obasanjo and several regimes I wrote to National assembly and yet they did not give heed to my several warnings. Nigerians don’t believe in GOD. We should go back to God because he is the head of all things.
Those who are behind insecurity in the country are Nigerians. I believe we are having issues in security because of power politics. I have been warning the northerners since 2006. I said Nigeria is going to be divided into three parts. I said it in 2010. l wrote a letter to Jonathan on what to do but nobody is paying heed. The ultimate is for us to go back to God because the devil has been ruling Nigeria
Talking about self determination, Nnamdi Kanu is leading the IPOB. Do you think he should still remain in prison? How will you appraise the nation’s economy?
The prison they put Nnamdi Kanu is political if they want him to be released he can be released. Government is playing politics with him. The truth about our nation is that many people now are suffering. Things are not going well with everybody. The subsidy they removed was too hasty. They ought to have introduced palliatives before the removal of fuel subsidy. I sometimes wonder what they are subsiding in the first. There is too much deceit in this country it is time for everyone to be focused on God. We should go back to back and pray for Nigeria.
But Nigerians have been praying?
We should pray more. We can’t overpray.
