Founder of Power City International based in Uyo, Akwa Ibom, Pastor Abel Damina has said the name one bears has nothing to do with one’s destiny.
In a recent message at the Power City, Damina said it is wrong to attach failure or success to the name one bears..
He pointed out that “there are people whose name are synonymous with success yet they are failures. There are people whose names are synonymous with failure yet they are successful.”
He noted that the reason many change their name is that God changed the name of Abram to Abraham.
He however explained that the case of Abraham was done because God needed to speak in the language that he would understand not necessarily that without the name he could not do what he wanted to do.
Damina explains further that “Lazarus means a prosperous person, yet he died a pauper. A former president of the US is called Bush, yet he was the president of the most powerful country in the world. As a matter of fact there were two “Bushes” that ruled America.
While insisting that name change does not add to the destiny of someone, he said it is time people got off the myth that their names are responsible for their misfortune
