The founder and Senior Pastor of Daystar Christian Centre Sam Adeyemi has described money as a veritable sin instrument despite the fact that it is good.

Adeyemi in a tweet on Thursday June 6  said though “money is good. It gives you the capacity to afford to acquire and do many good things.

“On the flip side of the coin, it also empowers you to commit sin you could not afford before.”

He then advised that as “you pray for more money, also pray, “Lead us not into temptation. Deliver us from evil”

The tweet has since generated so much reaction while it has been retweeted for about 5,600 times as at the time of writing this report.

Many of the respondents have no reason to dispute the position of Pastor Adeyemi on money while many prayerfully asked God not to lead them into the temptation money brings

Rachael Akwa in his retweet writes, “So true. Oh God for the door of blessing that you are about to open for me, lead me not into money temptations but give me the grace to be a blessing to others in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, Amen.”

Also reacting Ayodeji Adegbite posits, “A perfect expression Pastor! Money has ruined millions eternal life which is far greater than all the money in this world put together! It is better to die poor and make heaven than live rich and miss heaven.”

Testimony Emeka in his response states “What a message! May God truly lead us NOT into temptation. Human flesh requires constant drilling and discipline to put it in check. The love of money is evil.  No man is shielded from falling into sin; especially if he so much put confidence in the flesh.”

It will be noted that Pastor Adeyemi began a series on eternity in the current month. Since June 1 he has been tweeting on eternity and urging his followers to focus on things that matter in life and eschew life’s excesses.

In one of his recent tweet he said “One day, we will give account of the life we lived because that is going to influence the life we will live after. Once man dies, there is no other opportunity for making up for what we have done wrong, the only thing after that is judgement”
