WATS:  Olukoya donates three-floor building as school marks 30th anniversary

A three-floor building fully funded by the founder of Mountain of Fire and Miracles, Dr. Daniel Olukoya will be dedicated and handed over to the West Africa Theological Seminary at the seminary’s 30th anniversary this week.

 

The week-long celebration by WATS kicks off today September 9 to round off on September 14 with the 29th Convocation of the Seminary.

 

A statement signed by the Director of Administration of the seminary, Dr. Tosin Awolalu, informed that the week-long long event will also witness the anniversary lecture to be delivered by a UNESCO former Chief, Prof. Michael Omolewa

 

Omolewa is former Ambassador/Permanent Delegate of Nigeria to UNESCO and President of the 32nd Session of the General Conference of UNESCO. He is also recipient of national awards.

 

Prof. Omolewa is a member of the Governing Council of the International African Institute in the United Kingdom and Chairman of Committee of Deans of Faculties of Education of Nigerian Universities. He is also Emeritus Professor of the University of Ibadan.

 

Omolewa will be talking on the theme, Riding the Storm to Glory.

 

WATS, a non-denominational theological training institution in Nigeria has produced notable pastors and church leaders across the country and has been affiliated to the University of Nigeria, Nsukka since 1992.

 

The provost of WATS, Pastor Oluwafemi Martins who is being quoted in the statement noted this year’s anniversary is a unique one because “apart from giving out Awards of Excellence to deserving members of the public here in Nigeria and abroad, a three-floor building donated by the founder of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries, Dr. Daniel K. Olukoya will be dedicated and formally handed over to the Seminary.”

 

WATS was founded by Dr. Gary Maxey, an American who came to Nigeria in 1982.
