Bishop David Oyedepo took on Tuesday took to his Facebook page to invite Nigerians to the 40th anniversary of the liberation mandate he received from God.

The anniversary according to him will start on May 2 and end on May 9.

He said the event would be likened to 40 Shilohs put together urging those coming to come with expectations.

Bishop Oyedepo said, “Come expectant and come ready for an encounter with God and through the diverse ministrations. God is ushering all to a land of rest and of all-around testimonies. May no one miss his portion. It shall be an awesome experience. The name of the Lord be glorified for his amazing presence in our midst in the last 40 years. To him be all the glory.”

Bishop Oyedepo received the liberation mandate on May 2 1981 when he was 26 years old.

He had a spiritual encounter while lodging in one of the rooms within ‘International Hotel’ located in the Omi- Asoro Quarters of Ilesa city, in the present day Osun State of Nigeria.

He said at various fora that he had an 18-hour supernatural encounter in the hotel which ignited the beginning of Living Faith Church.

Oyedepo said God spoke to him saying, “Now the hour has come to liberate the world from all oppressions of the devil, through the preaching of the Word of faith; and I am sending you to undertake this task”.

But the actual operation of the church began in 1983, with four members on December 11.
