Leadership training, foundation for national rebirth-WATS

The West Africa Theological Seminary (WATS) has called for a renewed focus on leadership training as the foundation for national rebirth just as Nigeria celebrates its 65th independence anniversary.

The seminary made the call in a statement signed by the institution’s Director of Administration, Dr. Ogbonna Udensi, made available to Church Times on Wednesday October 1

In the statement, the Provost of the institution, Pastor Olufemi Emmanuel, PhD, was quoted as saying Nigeria’s future depends on raising leaders with integrity, vision, and a genuine commitment to service.

“At 65, Nigeria must embrace national rebirth. Our greatest resource is not oil or minerals but men and women of character who can lead selflessly. Leadership training remains the bedrock for rebuilding our nation,” Emmanuel said.

The seminary leader also congratulated President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu on the milestone, praying for wisdom, strength, and success as he steers the country at a critical point in its history.

He further urged the president to foster an atmosphere of unity and love where every Nigerian feels a sense of belonging and no part of the nation is marginalised.

Pastor Emmanuel reinstates WATS commitment to raising leaders who will put God first, serve humanity, and place Nigeria on the path of greatness.
