Woman of God Ajelowo
They call her Iya Moji, but she is a woman of God with a zeal that burns like fire. When our correspondents went to her Lagos residence to interview her she displayed a level of humility that was quite startling. She was on her knees greeting and doing obeisance. At the end of the interview, we requested that she pray for us and she insisted that we join hands alongside with her husband who was present throughout the interview for prayers.
You could almost tell that the prayers were heard by God with the tone and anguish in her soul. It was an effectual prayer and it came with a word from the Lord. Amazingly, she had not met any of us before.
Welcome to the world of Dupe Ajelowo, Lagos prophetess with an incredible unction. She recounts her beginning, stating that her parents were idol worshipers who consulted oracles and would not allow her go to Church. But when the time came for God to begin His work in her life, a neighbour invited her to a Christ Apostolic Church in Akure.
There and then the Holy Ghost fell upon her and she began to prophesy almost immediately. Her prophecies were right on target. Back home, her father took up a fight with the person who took her to church and warned her never to do that again. But that experience marked the beginning of a new dawn for the seer.
She began having divine encounters anytime she went to church though her father was not pleased with the development. Married at that early age of 22, she and her husband were still trying to find their feet. Her husband had come to Lagos to seek greener pastures but she was still in Akure and the gift of God in her life was still strong.
She prophesied to people without any stress. At a point some people wondered at the precision of her prophecies. Beyond the prophetic gifting, she had it rough at the beginning. “I suffered a lot at the early stage of my life. I came to Lagos to work as home help just to find means of livelihood. My husband was also struggling at the other end. I lost my parents but the sister that brought me to Lagos to work as a home help said she did not want me again that I should go back to my base. By that time I had lost touch with God and was just doing my thing.” She recounted.
That disappointment marked another phase in her life. As she was going home, she saw an old classmate in police uniform. The classmate recognized her and called her by name. She was surprised. She later introduced herself. And things started working out for her again. She and her husband had come together and they formalized their marriage. It was at the rented apartment a woman introduced her to a prophetess who reminded her that her destiny is tied to working in God’s vineyard.
She started attending church again and later had another encounter with a man of God who gave her series of revelations. She ended up in a Celestial Church and began to prophesy. People came from near and far and wanted prophetic words for their lives. Through the prophetic gifting, the Lord brought her to a number of top Nigerians and she was used mightily to prophesy to these people. She was later advised to start a church but God allowed her to go through certain stages. “Her husband who had not known God also had an encounter and he became vibrant and committed to the cause of God.” As time progressed she got invitations to minister in foreign lands countries
Though Iya Moji is barely literate she has had cause to minister in the US, UK and a number of countries in Asia and across the world. Apart from the ministry work, the prophetess is also a farmer and would not compromise her faith for whatever. “I cannot say because of hunger I would compromise my faith. I don’t joke with God when it comes to the issue of sin. And I don’t say things I did not hear from God.”
But what has been the striking thing in her life that she would not forget. Her husband, Pastor Moses Ajelowo took over the session. “There is one experience we cannot forget in a hurry. When we were living in a rented apartment in Oke Ira, my daughter had convulsion almost on a daily basis. The hospital around the estate where we lived had come to know us very well because we used to rush her to the hospital almost every night.
“But in the cause of doing all these, somebody advised that we take the girl to a nearby celestial church for prayers. That was what brought us to Celestial Church. I did not follow them to the church because I had not started attending church then. I allowed my wife and our daughter to go. Immediately they stepped into the church, my wife went into a trance and she did not come out of the trance until after seven days.

“Information went round Oke-Ira that a woman had gone into trance and had been prophesying to people releasing word of knowledge with precision. A number of people started coming to hear God’s word for their lives which they all attested to “My daughter had been handled by somebody else. As God would have it she never had convulsion after that day till date. She is now in the University in New York US. That was what led us to the Celestial Church of Christ until the Lord led us to start our own ministry.
A prophet actually gave me a word that God was going to use me throughout the world,” said the prophetess. She however told our correspondents that when she was in the CCC she did not join them in the use candles and some of the rituals connected with the church but was only used of God to prophesy. “I prayed the way an average CAC person would pray because that was the kind of orientation I had and that in a way did not conform with the general practice in the CCC. But when the time came for us to leave the CCC we had to obey the voice of God.
Now the two of them run a ministry in Ayobo end of Lagos. They are also building a cathedral which the wife attests to as the making of God. “That cathedral is the making of God. There are people who just come there to supply things that are necessary to build the place. Somebody came to do a borehole there and many have come to supply materials anonymously.
