Kumuyi warns pastors against careless living

General Superintendent of Deeper Life Bible Church, Pastor Williams Kumuyi has observed that many pastors are giving the church a bad name by their careless lifestyles.

He made the observation today June 21 in an online radio message.

Reading from Jeremiah 12:10-13 he said, “many pastors have destroyed my vineyard, they have trodden my portion, underfoot, they have made my pleasant portion a desolate wilderness.”

He stressed that such pastors who have taken it upon themselves to give the church a bad name and misrepresent God should be reminded that there is a great punishment awaiting them.

He said further that every child of God has a responsibility to protect themselves against forces of darkness while relying on the help of the Holy Spirit.

Kumuyi urged Christians not to be swayed by things happening around them. “I want to encourage you to hold firm to the word of God, guard your life because the Lord is coming soon, the end is here.” He said.

While calling on believers to abide by the truth, he said, “ if you don’t put the condition of your family to heart, if you don’t protect your life,  your Christian profession and do it enduringly, your foundation, will be destroyed.”

He said further, “we are running a race, and we keep running to make heaven. One cannot afford to be careless and allow anything to ruin one’s foundation”

He explained that every person who professes Jesus should have experienced salvation, sanctification and Holy Ghost baptism.

“Our foundation is very important, the Lord wants us to be careful, making sure we are not forgetting God, disregarding any form of flattery.

“Make sure you’re not forgetting God, you’re not yielding to flattery, and remain faithful so that the last days’ happenings will not sweep you away from your foundation”

He then urged Christians to hold fast enduringly and “protect those around us. Reach out to those who are straying away as well as leaders in the church not to forget that Christ is coming soon.” He said.
