The Halcyon Day International Church (HDIC), recently celebrated its 9th anniversary spending time to pray for Nigeria and impacting some senior citizens.
The General Overseer of the church Archbishop Ozazie Williams led the prayer session for the well-being of Nigeria and the current administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Archbishop Williams said “It is wisdom to pray for our nation and our leaders because where fairness, equity, justice and truth rule, the people rejoice but if the Government and the Governance are hijacked what we get will be the opposite. And there will be no peace and the people can not rejoice.”
The prayer point was at the forefront of the church bulletin, wherein, Archbishop Williams himself led the ministers under him and congregations interceding for the nation and the leaders at the three tiers of governments starting from President Tinubu, demanding the return of equity, justice, truth and fairness among the leaders and to percolate down to the masses and to the grassroots according to Isaiah 59:14-16.
Archbishop Williams said that prayers for the nation are still necessary despite prayers in the past organised by groups such as ” Nigeria Prays” which was led by retired General Yakubu Gowon and the Minister of Information Professor Jerry Gana during Chief Olusegun Obasanjo’s administration.
He said if the government is hijacked, we need heavenly intervention in the form of judgement because “where there is no judgement, evil thrives and if allowed to thrive for long enough, it becomes the norm, the standards and to rectify becomes more difficult than to have been prevented.”
The Archbishop also gave out gifts of cash to senior citixens from age 75 upwards with the star gift of N1million Naira to a widow Mrs. Victoria while others received N20,000 cash.
Over 25 old men and women received the N20,000 gifts from Archbishop Williams apart from the star gift, while some of his ministers led by his wife Pastor (Dr) Mrs. Gladys Williams also gave some undisclosed cash gifts to the over 25 senior citizens.
Archbishop Williams however noted that honouring the old ones in the society is far more than a corporate responsibility and generosity but a covenant act which is in line with many portions of the Holy Bible like Lev.19:32; Ps. 71:18; Eph. 6:11; Exo. 22: 22-24 and many other portions.
Ten ministers from across the nation and few from other countries working with the church were ordained into various offices by the Ogun State Pentecostal Fellowship (PFN) Chairman, Apostle A.B Otaru.
One of those ordained was a seasoned journalist turned man of God Israel Ade’Dunia. He was ordained as an Evangelist; Richard Adeyemo as Pastor; Joy Francis ordained as Prophetess and others.
The PFN Chairman charged those ordained to be loyal and take their offices serious. He prayed for them to excel in their various ministries wherever they go.
