Rev Mrs. Boyejo transited on August 16, 2020, at Rhode Island, USA. She was buried in Lagos on Friday, February 12 after a funeral service at the Foursquare Gospel Church headquarters in Yaba, Lagos.

Her husband, Rev James Boyejo who was also the first National President of the PFN had earlier gone to glory in 2011.

The National Secretary of the Church, Rev Yomi Oyinloye in a tribute noted that the late Boyejo lived a purposeful and highly impactful life as a Christian and ambassador for Christ

Foursquare: Boyejo was mightily used of God

The headquarters church at Yaba in a tribute signed by its secretary, Deacon John Ojeamiren gave a historical account of the late matriarch tracing her conversion to 1979.

The church noted that she came close to the church headquarters when she got married to late Rev James Boyejo. That was eight years after she lost her first husband, Mr. Akanbi Meshioye.

The tribute reads further, “In 1994, by the leading of the Lord she and her husband went to Israel and pioneered our Church in Tel Aviv. What a huge trust Papa Boyejo had in her when he asked her to stay behind for a while to grow the church. She was mightily used of the Lord to strengthen the new church till November 1995 when she returned to Nigeria”

Rev. Mrs. Boyejo later joined her husband in the US after winning the US visa lottery. Before winning the lottery, her visa application had been turned down severally by the US embassy.

Though she did not stay for a long time at the Yaba Church, the church described her as a pleasant character. “Her words are always soothing. She was respectful to all. No doubt we will miss her smiles.” Said the church in the tribute.

In a tribute signed by the National President of the PFN, Dr. Felix Omobude, the body noted that the late Rev Mrs. Boyejo was a matriarch whose vantage and privileged position “as the wife of our first National President, is a landmark which grace, tossed” on her shoulder.

The body noted that her exemplary conduct was legendary adding that her husband, the first PFN president would not have had a smooth tenure if not for her support.

While praying that the legacy she left behind would continue long after her death, the PFN said, “We celebrate you a patriotic matriarch among the saints who have triumphantly finished the race so strongly.”

In his tribute, Pastor Adeboye said, “The greatest and easiest victory anyone can win, in life, is to defeat death. This is because death can simply be conquered here on earth and in eternity by accepting and serving Jesus Christ, as Lord and saviour”

He described the late matriarch as “a firm believer in Christ, a dutiful wife to her husband and a loving mother of her children. We can testify of her love for, and strong faith in her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.”

President Buhari’s spokesman, Mr. Adesina who is also a deacon in the Foursquare Church described the late Boyejo as a “mother and indeed more than a mother. She was a sister, and truly more than a sister…We are sorry to see mama go. But we are also comforted by the quality of life she lived. Heaven has gained a saint come back home.”

The General Overseer of US-based Christ Foundation Mission International, Apostle Olu Ikuejamofo said in his tribute, “to know mama was to love her…We have much to be thankful for. Considering the investments of the words of God that our mama Revd Boyejo had deposited into the lives of the people she came across…This will not be the end of her story because her life’s memory and her influence will remain..”
