“For Nigeria, our challenges shall end in praise’

By Gbemiga Olakunle

“…Then she went in, and fell at his feet, and bowed herself to the ground and took up her son, and went out*… II Kings 4:8-37, KJV.

The long story of a very bad case quoted above that eventually ended in praise makes an interesting story that confirms the fact that what our GOD cannot do does not exist.

It was the unique testimony of a generous Shunamite woman who got pregnant due to her generosity to Elisha- the itinerant Man of GOD even when her husband was old. And before long, her Son who was a product of Elisha’s prophecy suddenly fell sick and died even before he reached the Age of Puberty.

Her joy was cut shut which made her to run back to the Man of GOD to report the sorry case. And when Elisha inquired about the well-being of her household including the Miracle Boy, the woman , despite the deep sorrow in her heart first of all made a positive confession by saying IT IS WELL before she opened up on what really happened.

This prompted Elisha to take action, followed her and her Son was miraculously raised back to life.

This was the second miracle that our GOD the Almighty performed through Prophet Elisha when he began his Ministry.

Another occasion when GOD a similar miracle that might sound unbelievable was when a dead man thrown into Elisha’s sepulchre rose to his feet when his body touched the bones of Elisha.

It should be noted that the first miracle that was recorded in his Ministry after using the mantle of Prophet Elijah – his Master to part River Jordan into two was changing the fortunes of a junior prophet’s widow from abject poverty into an instant prosperity which wiped away the woman’s shame and saved her sons from being taken into bondage by her creditors.

And so as individuals, families, Communities and even as a Nation, let us be rest assured that there can no case of impossibility with our GOD for with Him, NOTHING SHALL BE IMPOSSIBLE.

In whatever challenges that we may passing through – be it financial, health, marital or even security- wise, let us be rest assured that our GOD is equal to the task of whatever dimension or complexity.

He has also declared in Jeremiah 32 verse 27 thus “I AM the GOD of all flesh, is there anything too difficult for Me?” Definitely none.

Our Nation – Nigeria may be passing through the tunnel security, socio – economic and political challenges now but surely our night time will soon be over as we are entering the Dawn of a New Era soonest. This is in line with Psalm 30: 5(b) which states ” … weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning”.

This is a message to still keep our Hope alive that in whatever undesirable / unpleasant situation or circumstance that we may be passing through or found ourselves, our GOD the Almighty and Destiny Changer will step in quickly and our stories as individuals , families, Communities and our Nation – Nigeria SHALL END IN PRAISE soonest in JESUS Name.

The Holy Writs have declared that “Better is the end of a thing/ matter than the beginning thereof”. And so I welcome us to December being the last month of the year into a New Season of abundant joy, prosperity, good health, freedom from sorrow/ untimely death in our families/Communities as a period of peace and tranquility reign in our Nation in JESUS Name. Happy New Month. Shalom!
