The Assistant Intercontinental Overseer on Research and Development of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Josiah Bolarinwa has admonished children and indeed members of the church to follow in the footsteps of the General Overseer of the Church, Pastor Enoch Adeboye and his wife Folu Adeboye.
He gave the charge while delivering a message at the 20th anniversary of the children party of the church on December 28 at the Redemption camp in Ogun State.
The party is usually hosted by Pastor Mrs Folu Adeboye. Hundreds of children from across the environ gather to celebrate the birth of Christ. It’s also an opportunity to bless the children.
Bolarinwa who gave a brief message at the event said it is disingenuous to refer to the duo of Adeboye and his wife as daddy and mummy without following in their footsteps .
Addressing the topic, a child in the Lord, he noted that many who were never children of God have become men of God. He insisted, ‘you can’t call yourself a man of God if you were never a child of God.’
He explained that a child of God is that person who is guided by the principles of God as stated in Mathew 5v3-16. Those principles are what our daddy and mummy have been living by.
We need to live by those principles. Look at them and live after them. They can bodily say like Paul, be imitators of me as I am followers of Christ. They live the Bible.’
Bolarinwa stressed further that a child is guided godly principles.adding that the first step to being a child of God is to be born again. ‘you can’t be a child of God without getting born again first. That is the first step. Then you must begin to live according to Biblical principles.’
