The convener of the yearly praise programme tagged feast of praise, Elder Gbenga Daodu has expressed optimism that this year’s programme will usher in a new dawn for participants.
Daodu who spoke with Church Times on the preparations for the programme said he was convinced that God will move in unique ways as the programme marks its 7th anniversary.
“You know the number 7 is the number of perfection; I believe God will perfect all that concerns all those who participate in this year’s event. We are hoping that it will also be a time for many to encounter God afresh.”
He said the programme could not hold last year as expected because of the prevalence of the covid-19 virus saying however that God has been faithful.
“In the midst of the covid-19, we still have cause to thank God and appreciate Him for His mercy and love for us. Many things have happened in the course of the year, but all the same, there is reason to thank God who has redeemed our souls from destruction.”
He said the primary reason for the feast is to create an avenue for people to encounter God and come to His knowledge. “We believe many things happen during praise. The Bible tells us that God inhabits the praise of His people. What is key to us is the salvation of people. We believe that as we lift up the name of Jesus, the Lord will draw men to Himself.”
The event is scheduled to hold on Sunday, April 25 at the Christ Apostolic Church, Meiran, Lagos by Molayo Bus stop
Daodu said the event will kick off by 1 pm. “We are inviting all to come and experience God in a new way. It’s going to be a new season for us as we mark our 7th anniversary,” he said.
