Charity relaunches generous living following drop in UK aid to the needy

International Charity Generosity Path has relaunched its interactive Journey of Generosity (JOG) so that more Christians will embrace a life of generosity.

This follows a Charity Aids Foundation report in August showing that the UK is no longer one of the top 20 most generous countries in the world.

Stewardship’s Generosity Report also revealed that unlocking the latent giving potential among practicing UK Christians would release an average of £2,784 per person per year for charitable causes – over 3.5 times the current level.

Pastor and Product and Marketing Director at Generosity Path, Steve Wood, said, “Most Christians understand that they are called to live generous lives but struggle to live it out in the way that the gospel calls us to.

“Our mission is to inspire them to self-discover the joy and freedom that generosity can bring, and the transformative power it can have on communities and even entire countries.”

The Journey on Generosity initiative is designed as a discipleship resource to support both church leaders and mid-week church groups. It could either be run as an all-day event or split up over several weeks.

The sessions go through the biblical perspective of generosity and modern-day examples, supporting attendees in overcoming the daily obstacles that can get in the way of generous living.

Anyone can join or lead the JOG experience without training, with the sessions focusing on what it means to have a mindset of generosity, instead of requests for money.

Emanuel Bistrian, CEO of Generosity Path, said: “I’ve seen firsthand how the Journey of Generosity has had a profound impact on people’s lives across the globe. In every culture and community, generosity transcends boundaries and brings people together in a unique way.

“Over the years, we’ve witnessed countless stories of hearts and minds being opened through the JOG, and we’re excited to continue helping more people discover the joy and purpose that comes from living generously.”

To date, over 300 JOGs have taken place in the UK, with over 2000 attendees, 87% of whom reported experiencing spiritual transformation in the sessions.

The relaunch is set to be available in 50 languages by early 2025, following the relaunch for English-speaking audiences on the 16th of October 2024.
