CAN condemns attack on Apostle Suleman, commiserates with families of slain aides

The Christian Association  of Nigeria has condemned  the attempted assassination  on Apostle  Johnson Suleman.

Apostle Suleman is the founder of Omega Fire Ministries.

Suleman had on Friday October 21 announced in a broadcast that there was a suicide attempt on his life. He said seven people were killed while his convoy was attacked by some gunmen. 

But CAN in a statement signed by Archbishop Daniel Okoh described the attack as unfortunate

CAN described the event as disturbing and attempt to  cause mayhem not only in Edo State, but also in the nation as a whole.

The Christian body also commiserated with the Omega Fire Ministries International and the family of those who lost their relatives in the ugly incident.

CAN also called for full-scale investigation into the dastardly act.

The body.states, ‘Let all hands be on deck to uncover the identities of those involved in this heinous crime and bring them to book.

‘We urge the Federal Government and the security agencies to see the incident for what it is, a sign of the nation’s wobbling security system, and act quickly to address the situation.’

CAN further called on the federal government to act on the US Embassy’s warning of a possible terror attack by bandits in Abuja,

It appealed to Nigeria”s  ‘security operatives to wake up to the challenges of securing people’s lives and property to avoid the consequences of a resort to self-help.’

The body body urged the federal government to do whatever it takes to stop those plotting to eliminate innocent citizens.

CAN also appealed to all Nigerians to be vigilant.

‘it called on Nigerians to report to security agencies any suspicious movements in their vicinities.
