Bishop Abioye

A three-year-old documentary video in which Pastor Mary Abioye, wife of Bishop David Abioye made glowing comments about her husband is currently being circulated on social media.

Bishop Abioye is billed to bow out of the Living Faith Church on October 18.

The documentary was put together to mark his 60th birthday three years ago. Many other people including Abioye’s children made remarks in the documentary.

Mary Abioye said in response to whether he would marry her husband if given another opportunity, “I will look for him, by any means I will look for him because this man, the influence he has made in my life, the contribution, cannot be quantified. I will marry him again”

The union of the duo of Bishop David and Mary Abioye which has spanned 36 years produced three children, David Jnr, Ruth, and Daniel. In his assessment of his father, David JnrAbioye said, “He is a man of strength, simplicity and honesty. Those are the words that describe him. He is a man who is always contented with what he has”

Ruth Abioye says of her father, “He is more than a father. He is a friend. He is a good listener. He always creates time to speak to us, to advise us. He is a present father.”

For Daniel Abioye, his father is an angel. “He is an angel and only I can say that because I have had first-hand experience of who an angel is and the importance of an angel. Regardless of what any other person says, My father is an angel.”

In the documentary, Bishop Abioye offers words of encouragement and advice to couples. “There must be an understanding of the background of couples in a marriage. They have to understand their differences” he said

He also took time to talk about his father in faith, Bishop David Oyedepo. He said, “My journey in this ministry as an organisation, with Bishop Oyedepo, is charted by God that I should not only have a covenant relationship with him, but covenant stewardship.”

In the documentary, Oyedepo said he had a clear conviction that God sent Bishop Abioye to him.

Several other men of God including Pastor Ayo Orisejafor, one-time President of the Christian Association of Nigeria, and Pastor Enoch Adeboye shared intimate experiences of Bishop Abioye in the documentary
