Adeboye recounts how RCCG pastor was arrested abroad, bemoans global moral decadence

Pastor Enoch Adeboye

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye has recounted how a pastor of the church was arrested abroad for saying ladies and gentlemen while giving a public speech.

He made the recall at the monthly thanksgiving service of the church in Lagos on Sunday December 1.

The service was monitored online by Church Times.

Adeboye who spoke on the topic, My father’s house spent a greater part of the message bemoaning the moral decadence across the globe.

On his pastor that was arrested, he said, ‘My pastor was arrested abroad for saying ladies and gentlemen while addressing a gathering.

‘He was accused of discriminating among the genders because they claimed there were some in the gathering who were neither male nor female.’

Though he did not mention the country, time the arrest took place and the name of the pastor , he said what happened is in indication of the extent of moral decadence in the world.

He also shared the story of a lady he met in the western world. He asked the lady about her husband. And she said her husband took ill. He asked further how he was doing. And the woman said her husband could not talk.

Still wondering, the woman told Adeboye and that her husband had been taken to the veterinary hospital; an indication the woman’s husband was a dog.

The RCCG Overseer noted further that there is a general moral decadence in the world adding also that preachers of the gospel are complicating matters with strange teachings.

While praying for his listeners that he would see them in eternity with God, he warned, ‘the devil wants to harvest you. But you must not give him the opportunity. I want to see you in my father’s house.’

He warned against playing church and fooling around, adding, ‘Jesus said I will come back. If you are not on his side, you will not enter his father’s house.’

Earlier in his message, he said the law of God is written in the heart of every man recalling how those who lived before Jesus came lto the world lived for God.
