The leadership of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has said Mallam Abba Kyari, the late Chief of Staff to President Mohammadu Buhari sacrificed his life for the greatness of Nigeria since he contracted coronavirus which led to his demise while on national assignment abroad.

In a Letter of Condolence to the President, dated  April 18, 2020, and personally signed by the President of the Association, His Eminence, Rev Dr Samson Olasupo A. Ayokunle, CAN notes with sadness that the late Kyari contracted the coronavirus abroad while on official duty while also praying that the Lord will grant President Buhari the grace to bear the loss.

The letter reads in part, “We are particularly sad that he contracted the virus while on duty abroad. He has thus sacrificed his life in the course of service to his motherland. That spoke much of his patriotic devotion to greatness of our nation.”

CAN which also describes the death as a ‘big blow’ to the Buhari administration prayed for the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss by all the bereaved. It also promised to “continue to pray for President Buhari for enhanced wisdom and patience to lead a great country like Nigeria.

I'm sure this Press Release credited to CAN President which is more of a political statement doesn't represent an average opinion of CAN ExCo members no to talk of majority of Christians in Nigeria. Instead of playing to gallery on the recent issues, what is CAN doing on the conversion of Christian Hausa minors in Kano by Gov. Ganduje's administration?
