The founder of Cave Missions World Outreach, Pastor Stephen Shomide has emphasised the need for constant prayers and financial support for the work of missions. This according to him will facilitate the task of evangelisation.
Shomide has been doing missions in Niger State for about 27 years. He stated in a broadcast that the missions has survived over the years because of the prayers of the saints and the financial support of those who have been led by God to do so.
He said prayer is vital for the survival and success of missionaries. “without prayers of our partners, we can’t live well on the missions field, we can’t initiate church planting or dig well or borehole in a field. The powers in the fields don’t want development. But the prayer of the saints has helped to break yokes. Prayer is very vital for the success of missions.”
He noted however that there are challenges. The challenges according to him come with opportunities. “Challenges won’t go away from us. But Mark 10v27, Jesus assures us that with God all things are possible.”
One of the challenges confronting the ministry is raising funds for the roofing of the ministry’s mission centre located on the outskirts of Minna, the capital city of Niger State.
He said the foundation of the centre was laid in 2015 but that the project is still far from completion because of the paucity of funds.
“The need for the centre can’t be overemphasised because it has been for missions conferences, empowerment, training and also as a base to disciple new converts from other faiths,” he said.

Shomide stated there there is a need for funds to run the administration of missions but that most people who support missions often direct their support to the fields.
He expressed concern about encroachment on the land where the Mission Centre of the ministry is located while also asking those the Lord has inspired to support to do so as God supplies the grace
He said the block work for the Mission Centre is finished but that what is needed is the roofing so it could be put to use as soon as possible.
Meanwhile, the ministry is set to hold its annual church planting programme. Tagged, Christmas in the Jungle, it will hold from December 23 to 26 in two local government areas of Niger State.
